Day 1 (Well Really 3) Of the Change Ashley for the Better Project!

Title sounds stupid I know but you know what! It’s the truth! I am changing myself for the better! No I am not changing my wonderful, hilarious, outspoken, random personality. I am working on lossing weight, making my skin better, and making my hair better! There are a few ways to achieve all this and 1 of the most important. Eating Right well and Exercise (these two words scare me like no other but what I keep telling myself is… “if you want to fit back into those awesome size 7/8 pants, then ya gotta do it right!”) and well thats what I am going to do! I went “window” shopping with my sister-in-law today. We had an absolute blast! We went to Wal-mart and Target! I found some great things I really want to get to help me. Though I do believe using the Kinect games enough will help me out! But back to the original purpose for this post. I started taking Biotin Thursday, now 3 days later I have noticed nothing. I do want to give some information about Biotin (I would like to say I am not fond on taking pills, but from what EVERYONE I have spoken to about it says it is great! That it helps their hair grow. I have never heard anything about it helping skin but on the bottle it says it helps, Hair, Skin, and Nails. Now I did research to find a little bit more about it before I went out and spent $10.00 on a bottle of 120 pills which from Rite-Aid is cheaper than the 60 pills, I really didn’t understand this but Hey I like deals! Back on track we go again!
Here is some of the imformation that I found when researching Biotin:
What is Biotin?
Biotin is a B vitamin that’s needed for the formation of fatty acids and glucose, which are essential for the production of energy. It also helps with the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Biotin is found naturally in food. Good dietary sources of biotin include brewer’s yeast, nutritional yeast, liver, cauliflower, salmon, bananas, carrots, egg yolks, sardines, legumes and mushrooms. (Now the problem with me is, I DO NOT eat, liver, cauliflower, salmon, carrots, sardines, legumes [whatever they are] or mushrooms). Biotin deficiency isn’t common, unless you frequently eat a lot of raw egg white, which contains a protein that blocks the absorption of biotin. Genetic disorder of biotin deficiency, infant seborrheic dermatitis, surgical removal of the stomach, and excessive alcohol consumption may increase a person’s requirement for biotin. Biotin deficiency may lead to skin rash, hair loss, high cholesterol and heart problems.
Why Do People Use Biotin?
There is little solid evidence that biotin supplements are effective for acne, eczema, brittle nails, diaper rash, cradle cap or hair loss. (Now for the reason I am using it. Acne, Brittle Nails, and Hair Loss… well not really hair loss, ever since I had my daughter my hair has been terrible to me! I used to never have problems when it came to it falling out because well it was only a few peices. Now when I brush my hair its like A LOT, TONS, Millions [ok not that much] but it is a lot).
Another thing it is a diet supplement, I haven’t felt the effects and from what I have read there are none if it is taken the way the directions tell you to which is 1 time a day. That is all I take since I am big on following instructions.

Here are some of the Benefits of Biotin:

What are the Benefits of Biotin?
Biotin, also known as vitamin H, is a water soluble vitamin that is also considered part of the B-complex family of vitamins. Biotin is a required vitamin by all organisms on the earth. It is naturally available in many foods including liver, cauliflower, salmon, carrots, bananas, soy flour, cereals, yeast and other foods, and also in supplements such as Total Balance which contains a daily dose of biotin. The biotin level decreases when you cook or freeze these foods so it is best to eat them in their most fresh and natural form. People who eat mostly health foods might not have a biotin deficiency, since it is readily available in many different foods, but if someone eats the typical packaged foods, they may be lacking this nutrient, and many others. It is also interesting to note that if you eat raw egg whites on a regular basis you could have a decreased biotin level due to a possible egg whites effect on this vitamin. Other conditions can also increase your need for biotin and they include poor eating habits of restaurant and packaged foods, a genetic disorder, dermatitis in infants, etc. Biotin was found to be an essential nutrient for mammals in 1936, but it took 40 more years to establish that biotin should be considered a vitamin and it was given the vitamin H name.

Benefits of Biotin
Biotin is a necessary vitamin for the growth and health of your body. It aids in the converting of fatty acids and glucose into fuel for the energy you need to go about your day. If you feel run down you may be low on this B vitamin. It also metabolizes amino acids and carbohydrates and helps to produce certain enzymes that your body needs for normal functioning. It plays a part in keeping your sweat glands, nerve tissues, and marrow healthy and working efficiently.

Biotin Deficiency
Some symptoms of a biotin deficiency may be dry skin, fungal infections, rashes, fine and brittle hair, hair loss, high cholesterol, heart problems, and other symptoms. If you experience any of these symptoms, consult your physician to see if you may have a biotin deficiency.

Biotin for Hair
There are some claims that are being studied that biotin can help to treat acne, eczema, and hair loss, but research is ongoing. The Jason company makes a shampoo with biotin for hair.

Biotin and Candida
Due to the fact that fungal infections are one side effect of biotin deficiency, some doctors believe a lack of it may contribute to candida fungal problems. There is not yeat a study linking the cause and effect, but a deficiency of any vitamin is not healthy and this one is no exception.

Biotin Side Effects
Biotin is a vitamin and is included in most daily multi-vitamins. It is not considered to have side effects when taken in a daily vitamin formula per label directions. If you are pregnant or nursing, check with your care provider before taking any supplement.

If you are experiencing dry and brittle nails or lack luster, brittle hair then biotin deficiency may be something to consider as a possible cause. Biotin is a necessary part of keeping your body healthy. The symptoms of biotin deficiency are subtle at first but may move on to more serious issues. The way to get the full benefit of biotin is to take it as part of a balanced daily multivitamin and herbal formula, such as the one we like the best which is Total Balance. This well researched supplement contains a generous and balanced serving of biotin, plus many of the other beneficial nutrients featured on this website. Taking this balanced supplement every day insures you get your needs met for biotin and other important nutrients. Ok so one of my Best Friends posted a blog! I love everything about this girl and honestly if I dont talk to her 1 day I go alittle bit nuts, the reason for my post is because of something she posted that made me smile, then brought tears to my eyes. She was talking about beauty in woman, and it made me think of this post.
The reason for this is because of a comment I just posted on her blog post and then said to bring it here.

Read her blog post if you havent then comment on her post then comment on mine.

My comment was: Stop it! Your posts make me smile, bring tears to my eyes, everything! I love you! I just want to say working it is something I have had to work on! I know I’m hot shit because I have told myself well and Marilyn Monroe told me I was Beautiful! She wasn’t the smallest person in the world and let me tell you no one is perfect! But I am beautiful and I know it! Just like you are beautiful Carolyn, Markie, Kim, Hannah, Karisa, Amy, Christy, Mel, Elizabeth, Shayna, and Amanda! Hell All woman are beautiful no matter what their size or whatever! I have big boobs, I wear a size 18 pants, either XL or XXL in shirts and I have a size 9/10 shoe but you know what IM FUCKING BEAUTIFUL! and all of you are as well.
Even though this –> “I’m pretty, but I’m not beautiful. I sin but I’m not the devil. I’m good but I’m not an angel.” <— is what Marilyn Monroe said, Everyone is beautiful. She was Beautiful and this is who helped me gain confidence in myself! I know this is Carolyn’s blog but I want to know who inspired you to realize you are beautiful. Promote Your Business or Cause Using Social Media Book Review

I was very lucky to win this book from Dennis J. Smith who is the author of the book. Let me tell you, this book is a great read if you are trying to promote your business or cause. I was very pleased with all the information the book had and I even started a WordPress blog. I already had a blog but I do find that WordPress is better.

“Promote Your Business or Cause Using Social Media” tells you everything you need to be able to promote your Business or Cause using sites like, Blogger, WordPress, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and a few others.

I love how Dennis gave detail about how to setup everything and gave little pieces of information on what ways you can do and use to promote your Business or Cause, each chapter is perfectly written for each Social Media site and the pictures that are in there help so it is not confusing at all.

The part I really like was the WordPress chapter seeing as I knew nothing about WordPress, don’t get me wrong I’m not an expert with any of these Social Media sites but I have learned a lot since reading the book. Sometimes I have to look back still to trying to figure out good ways to promote things.

Now seeing as I am not a Business there were some Chapters in the book I didn’t need, but other I am so glad they were there.

This isn’t one of my best reviews I know seeing as this is my first ever book review but as a few final thoughts on this I would say that this is a prefect read for any Business Owner who would like to get their business out there using Social Media and it is even good for Causes like Charity Groups, Churches, etc.

I am hoping you enjoy this review and even get the book to help you promote your business.

I Give This Book a 10 just because it is very informative!

If you would like to get a copy of the book here are the following links.!/SocialMediaBook?v=wall

The Holiday’s Are Around Us

Hi everyone! I am hoping to get a few reviews and giveaways soon… I have contacted a few artisans and they say they want to do it then about 2 months later after they say they have sent they tell me they have forgotten or just dont want to do it. But I’m ok with that… you do have to becareful who you let review and what not though. I do have one review coming up for sellers who are trying to promote their business from a very nice Gentleman Dennis J. Smith. This review has taken me a good while and I’m still not close to being done, because this is my first book review! But I am hoping to have it ready in the next week or so!

But now for the reason of the post is the Holiday’s are around us. I am hoping that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope no one is getting tired of Christmas like I am… It’s really the music and all the decorations that are out before the 1st of December!
But I now need to get on the phone and start making some phone calls on doing giveaways.

Hi Loves! Just giving an update because I haven’t posted much of anything lately! I have been pretty depressed lately and have needed time to myself…. I have gotten screwed in this “job” I found and now I am trying to get paid and get the HELL out of it! But there is some good news that’s about to come up!

I have a huge catering event coming up on Thursday. When I say huge I mean this is the biggest one we have done! Now I have been catering for about 8 years with my grandma and mom and we just started getting a cut my mom and myself, but this one is going to be amazing! We are serving 110 people but cooking for 150, I am pretty excited about this, we will have bbq and bbq chicken, homemade cole slaw, baked beans, and desert. The reason I am posting this because I want to know if you are a caterer. If so what type of items do you like to make and serve at your events

Just I just spoke to an artist that does custom work on shoes and clothes and stuff, like he takes a pair of white or well any color shoe and draws and either paints or colors them. Well I just finished talking to him about getting 1 pair of customs done with two of my most favorite bands 🙂 They are 115 which includes shipping and everything else, I am totally psyched about them. I am not going to give to much info on them now though because I want them to be a surprise to everyone! Once he gets the money he goes and gets the shoes and then he designs them all that day and night and ships them the next day! OMG OMG OMG! Totally Excited! I can’t wait to get these I would totally wear them everywhere, I wish I had the money right now I would so get them tonight!

XOXO – Ashley

My heart is on the East Coast and will be til the day I Die! Now to get back on subject with the playlist!

XOXO – Ashley

So I am having a HUGE PROBLEM! I went to go check my email! And since we moved I no longer have verizon and CANNOT check my email. This really isnt good because I had some emails in there that I needed to get out before they closed my account! Now I am so screwed!

So going back to having a craving for Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte! I can make it myself for well half the price! Ok. not really half the price but I can save a few 2os a week and being able to make it whenever I feel like it!  🙂 I found this recipe after going on a kick! I am going to the grocery store later on tonight to get the coffee, pumpkin (in a can), expresso (hoping I can find it)

Pumpkin Spice Latte
makes 1-2 servings

2 cups milk
2 tablespoons canned pumpkin OR 1 teaspoon of Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup (your choice)
2 tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute – you can halve this amount
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1-2 shots espresso (about 1/4 cup of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine.)

In a saucepan combine milk, pumpkin and sugar and cook on medium heat, stirring, until steaming. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and spice, transfer to a blender and process for 15 seconds until foamy. If you don’t have a blender, don’t worry about it – just whisk the mixture really well with a wire whisk.

Pour into a large mug or two mugs. Add the espresso on top.

Optional: Top with whipped cream and sprinkle pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, or cinnamon on top.

Here is the recipe I got it from here:

I really can’t wait to make these! I think I am also going to make Pumpkin muffins to go with it 🙂 This is going to be great
